Privacy policy - HockeyUmpire

1. Who we are

HockeyUmpire is an app for field hockey umpires that helps manage matches and timers on iPhone and Apple Watch.

2. Data processed by the app

Core match data is information you enter or create in the app.

• match configuration, such as duration and periods
• scores and match events, including goals, cards and penalty corners
• timer states, match history and optional personal notes

This data is processed locally on your iPhone and/or Apple Watch. Optional Apple Health data is handled separately as described in section 4.

HockeyUmpire does not use this data for advertising, tracking, analytics or profiling.

If you choose your own header photo (Pro), a copy of that photo is stored inside the app. HockeyUmpire never uploads it. Location and other photo metadata are removed when the photo is imported.

3. Storage and synchronization

Core app data is stored locally on your device.

Your iPhone and Apple Watch can exchange match data through Apple’s Watch Connectivity framework.

HockeyUmpire does not operate cloud storage or a managed backup service.

Apple-controlled device or iCloud backups may include app data depending on your Apple settings. Those backups are managed by Apple, not HockeyUmpire.

Your own header photo is stored on this device only and is excluded from Apple-managed device and iCloud backups.

4. Apple Health (HealthKit) integration

Apple Health integration is optional and disabled by default. You control it in HockeyUmpire settings and through Apple’s Health permissions.

When enabled and permitted, Apple Watch may save a hockey workout to Apple Health. The workout can include:

• workout duration and hockey activity type
• workout metrics supplied by Apple Watch, such as heart rate, movement and energy values, depending on device and permissions
• an optional outdoor GPS workout route when route recording is enabled

To show relevant workouts in match history and provide route maps, heatmaps or heart-rate context, HockeyUmpire may read matching hockey workouts, workout routes and heart-rate samples back from HealthKit.

• HockeyUmpire does not store Health data on its own servers.
• Health data remains stored and managed by Apple Health on your device.
• HockeyUmpire does not sell or share Health data and never uses it for advertising, tracking, analytics or profiling.
• You can change Health permissions or remove Health data through Apple Health and iOS settings.

5. Network usage and external services

HockeyUmpire does not use its own analytics, advertising or tracking services and does not send match or Health data to HockeyUmpire servers.

The app can make network requests for optional features and external services:

• the optional News section fetches headlines, summaries and links from selected third-party hockey RSS or Atom feeds
• news articles, federation links and other external links open publisher or third-party websites
• Pro product information, purchases and purchase restoration use Apple’s App Store and StoreKit services

External publishers, federations and Apple may receive normal technical request information and process it under their own privacy policies. HockeyUmpire does not use News for advertising, cross-site tracking or user-level reading profiles.

6. Pro purchase through Apple

Pro is an optional in-app purchase handled by Apple through StoreKit. HockeyUmpire does not process your payment details.

• the current regional price is shown by Apple in the app
• purchases are completed through your Apple Account
• Restore Purchases asks Apple to restore an existing entitlement

7. Notifications

The app may use local notifications for timers or match events. They are handled on the device by the operating system; notification data is not sent to HockeyUmpire.

8. Data sharing

HockeyUmpire does not sell match or Health data, send it to third parties, or use it for marketing or advertising. If you choose to open an external website, your device connects directly to that provider under its own privacy terms.

9. Your control

• delete match data within the app
• enable or disable optional Health logging and GPS route recording
• revoke Health permissions in iOS or Apple Health settings
• manage Apple backups through your device settings
• remove locally stored app data by uninstalling the app

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may change when app functionality changes. The latest version is available in the app and on this website.
